About Brandywine

Leveraging over 30 years of large-scale development experience, Brandywine has developed nearly 100 million dollars of ultra-luxurious, single-family, residential real estate in the finest pockets of Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills. By engaging the most capable architects, engineers, and interior designers during the development process, the firm creates unique homes that are timelessly appealing, while also being welcomingly practical and impressively durable. Brandywine manages each step of the process, including land acquisition, architectural and interior design, and construction.

Brandywine is led by Arya Afrakhteh, a degreed electrical engineer from the University of Florida in Gainesville. Over 20 years before founding Brandywine, Arya was employed as a consulting engineer on a number of large commercial and industrial projects including government facilities, hospitals, schools, laboratories, and office buildings. Notably, he worked on NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center's communications building and a 100,000 square foot Lockheed Martin facility. He then continued his career with Exelon Nuclear in Pennsylvania, successfully managing gas and electric construction projects exceeding two hundred and fifty million dollars. Collectively, these experiences translated into superior design and project management capabilities.

The firm has been featured in Detroit Home Magazine and the Detroit Free Press for creating high-quality, new-construction signature homes. Its work has been widely recognized in the design community, winning first place in numerous categories of the Detroit Home Design Awards. A strong proponent of organizations that work to improve their surrounding communities, Brandywine has been active in raising funds for The Community House, the Cranbrook Educational Community, Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build, and Lighthouse of Oakland County.
